It’s bound to be an evening filled with familiar tunes and homey soft rock & folk hits by the one and only MAT KEARNEY. Extending his HEADLINES HOME TOUR through 2025, the Nashville-based musician is set to kick off another round of intimate yet energy-packed shows on the road. Relatable music and a charming persona, his voice takes everyone on a special ride on tracks that points home. Releasing his first album in three years, fans flocked streaming platforms and his live shows to have a taste of his new guitar riffs, tales, and harmonies. Last year’s shows saw the man performing in intimate theaters, sharing how they create a special kind of energy among the crowd.
“There’s basically no better size room to play than a couple thousand in a theater,” Kearney told Billboard. “It sounds the best. There’s enough collective energy that it feels special.”
Eight albums in, the man shares that he’s content with the success he has achieved. Excitedly sharing how he’s so lucky in this phase of his life, “I still want big songs that connect with people. But there’s something about the season of life that I’ve embraced and enjoyed so much,” he says as he looks forward to playing at amphitheaters.
Two decades in, he’s riding the waves — with his headlights pointing towards home. From trying to cover songs by other artists (saying he wasn’t good at it) to writing his own songs, his journey reflects his authenticity and heart for music.
“I guess I lived it up and did what everyone said you should do in college. I discovered the depth of depravity, the bleakness of that lifestyle. It just wasn't working. I finally started understanding there must be more to life,” he told CBN Music.
From simple guitars with spoken rap to amazing harmonies and riffs, Kearney has definitely grown as an artist. From gigs at coffee shops to sold-out theaters across North America, music truly changes lives. Not only has his life changed, he’s also made a great impact in the hearts of his fans.
Over the years, his hits include “Nothing Left to Lose”, “Closer to Love”, “Hey Mama”, “Ships in the Night”, “Kings & Queens”, and many more. Get ready to sing these familiar hits alongside his new bangers at the HEADLIGHTS HOME TOUR.
