ABOUT FITZ AND THE TANTRUMS

An American indie pop and neo soul band, Fitz and The Tantrums have become staple favorites among the indie crowd. With a couple of hits behind their backs, they’ve got crowds singing back every single word. Hailing from Los Angeles, California and formed in 2008, the band started performing in several clubs across LA. After Adam Levine’s tattoo artist downloaded one of their songs and made the Adam Levine listen to their record, “A week and a half later, we're opening for Maroon 5 on their college tour,” Fitzpatrick shared with Rolling Stone.

Gaining traction, growing a fanbase, and even scoring TV performances, the band ultimately found their first chart-topping hit as their 2013 single “Out of My League” hit #1 on Billboard's Alternative Songs chart. The single later achieved a 3x Platinum certification from the RIAA. Their succeeding platinum and multi-platinum hits “The Walker,” and “HandClap,” cemented their name on indie pop glory. At their shows, you can expect the crowd to get wild once they rock it out to these tracks.

A BAND YOU MUST SEE LIVE

Fitz and The Tantrums have become widely acclaimed for their live shows. Music critic Ann Powers of Los Angeles Times wrote that “Fitz & the Tantrums is the kind of band that communicates best in concert, but this album serves as a fine proxy and party-starter.” The album in question is their 2010 debut “Pickin' Up the Pieces.” In 2011, Rolling Stone featured them as a “Band to Watch.”

“We built a whole live touring business for ourselves before we even had a first record deal, and that all came from that experience of playing live and creating this experience for people to come to you,” Fitzpatrick told Washington Square News.

Coming to the Greenfield Lake Amphitheater, the band is all set to serve up a wild night under the stars. Surrounded by lush greenery, they’re lighting up the skies with an explosion of indie pop and neo soul goodies. An easy drive from the city center, it sure is the place to be. There’s tons of parking, restos, bars, and pubs within its vicinity. Now, that sounds like the perfect night out.
