Hailing from both the Appalachian and Piedmont regions of North Carolina, Steep Canyon Rangers is now gracing the stage of Greenfield Lake Amphitheater as part of their 2024 Tour! Come join us on September 27 for a perfect Friday night starting at 8PM.
Get a chance to listen to their new album: Morning Shift live! This legendary album was produced by the distinguished Darell Scott and engineered by the legendary Dave Sinko. From the recording studio at the Inn Bat Cave, a historical refuge settled near a long-forgotten crossroads of Southern Appalachia to the majestic views of Greenfield Lake Amphitheater, it is indeed quite a journey!
This album is even made more special, as the songs are a homage to their roots, efforts to expand upon the living art of bluegrass music. This solidifies their reputation as one of the most influential songwriters in Americana today.
The Rangers are also confident in their ability to transpose their energy from the studio to the live audience. “We find that within an album and really even within a song, you need to transition from moment to moment, and to have a series of moments that keep people engaged. And that’s what we’ve always tried to do with our live show. We’ve followed that idea, and what we’ve tried to do so on both our records and our live show is to really keep things that keep the spotlight sort of shifting and keep changing textures, changing mood and all that.”
The band rose to international fame for their collaborations with Steve Martin, actor/comedian/banjo player and Edie Brickell, singer/songwriter. Their progressive musical style, insightful lyrics, and perfectly blended harmonies turned their listeners into lifelong fans and allowed them to gain even more followers. This concert is a chance for you to support the Rangers!
So far, these songs: “Looking Glass”, “Easy to Love”, “Take My Mind”, “Auden’s Train”, “As I Go”, “Hominy Valley” ,“Stand and Deliver”, and “Deep End” have been played regularly in their events this 2024.
